Up the Castlemen! From Site to Sidelines with Framlingham Town FC

Kicking Off Season Two

The 26/27 season for Framlingham FC kicked off in August, and with my own son Charlie back in the U9S, Hugo from the office in the U14S, and Freddie from the warehouse pulling on the first team shirt again on Saturdays, it’s very much a ‘TuffStuff’ affair.

By Monday, two of them are back in the TuffStuff office and warehouse, and the third is nine years old, so boardroom decisions are not quite ready for him yet, even though I’m pretty sure he’d argue his case pretty strongly!

For the second year running, TuffStuff are proud to be the principal sponsor of Framlingham Town FC as part of a three-year deal. But if you're expecting a standard corporate partnership announcement, you've come to the wrong blog. Those aren’t really our style; we’d rather show up, get involved, and try to be genuinely useful to the people and things that matter.

So, lace up your boots (and not the steel-toe kind this time), as we go from site to sidelines with Framlingham FC.

Who Are Framlingham Town FC?

We gave them a brief mention in our Wrapped Up: The TuffStuff Highs, Lows and Laughs for 2025 post, but here’s the full picture:

Founded in 1887, Framlingham Town FC (also fondly known as The Castlemen) are one of Suffolk's oldest football clubs, playing in the Eastern Counties League Division One North at Badingham Road. That's 139 years of early Saturday mornings, muddy pitches, and optimistic pre-season predictions- we respect that deeply.

But this isn't a club just kicking around. From the U7s through to the senior side, Framlingham Town are a team with real ambitions to progress through the leagues and improve facilities along the way, which makes you want to get involved rather than just write a cheque.

And the town itself is on the move too. Framlingham has always had a strong sense of identity – the castle, the community, the fact that Ed Sheeran thinks it's worth investing in significantly...but that’s a rabbit hole you won’t want to go down here! It's a town with momentum, and the football club is very much part of that story.

What the Sponsorship Actually Looks Like

Most corporate sponsorships are straightforward. A logo goes on a shirt, money changes hands, everyone gets a mention on Instagram. But this one's a bit different, and the difference is in the detail.

The Veo Camera

TuffStuff's support helped the club invest in a Veo automated camera system ahead of the new season, giving the management team automatic match footage for analysis, player development, and highlights. No more dodgy phone footage from the touchline- just clean, reliable coverage, winner.

Kitting Out

It would be crazy as a clothing company if we didn’t offer our kit where it's needed most. Beyond the first team, we've also helped kit out coaches across the junior section, as many volunteer coaches give up Saturday to freeze on a touchline for the love of it, and deserve better than a bin bag poncho in October.

What's Next

And we're not stopping there. We're currently working to help the club find a sponsor for a new scoreboard- not funding it ourselves, but using our contacts to make it happen. Sometimes the most useful thing a sponsor can do isn't write another cheque; it's pick up the phone and use their contacts!

Framlingham Town's First Team Manager Liam Abraham puts it better than we could:

"The support we receive from TuffStuff goes well beyond the traditional sponsor relationship. They've taken a genuine interest in the club at every level and their continued backing has allowed us to invest in things that can make a real difference, such as the new Veo camera. It's a partnership with real local connections and we're delighted to have TuffStuff with us for a second season."

The People Behind the Partnership

Now, this is the part that makes this sponsorship different from most, and it's worth taking a moment on.

My son Charlie plays for the U9s and, as mentioned, recently captained the side in a win over Kesgrave. It doesn't get much more personal than that. When your own kid is pulling on the club shirt on a Saturday morning, the sponsorship stops being a business decision and starts being something else entirely.

Hugo, son of Maggie in the TuffStuff office, plays for the U14s. The connection runs through the boardroom, the team, the office, and the school run.

And then there's Freddie Paternoster. Freddie plays for the first team at weekends and spends his weekdays in the TuffStuff warehouse during his gap year, before heading off to university next September. On Saturday he's on the pitch. On Monday he's packing orders. We think that's brilliant, and we're glad he's with us for both.

When three members of your team are involved with the club you sponsor, it stops being a logo on a shirt. It becomes something you care about. Which, as it turns out, makes it a much better sponsorship all round.

Why It Matters (And Why We'll Keep Showing Up)

TuffStuff is a third-generation family business. Framlingham Town FC has been part of this community since 1887. Two local institutions, both invested in the same place and the same people; it was never going to be just a shirt sponsorship.

As Rob puts it: 'The main message is that we never wanted this to just be a shirt sponsorship. It's a local club we have genuine connections with, and we'd like TuffStuff to play a useful part in its development over the three years and hopefully beyond.'

That's the plan. Show up, get involved, and genuinely give back, whether that's a Veo camera, a set of coach kits, or helping track down a scoreboard sponsor. The small stuff adds up.

If you want to follow the Castlemen's season, results, highlights, and the occasional Veo camera masterclass, then you can find them at thecastlemen.com and over on Instagram at @framlingham_town_football_club.

Season two starts now. We'll be on the touchline, in the stand, and in the warehouse on Monday. Up the Castlemen!
